Privacy Policy

This site is run by me, Yashwanth Kotha, an independent product designer based in the UK. This is my personal portfolio at yash.cx, not a company or a service with accounts or logins. If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email me directly at yash@dropcap.design.

The short version

This is a portfolio site. There are no accounts, no logins, and nothing is sold here. The only personal data I collect is what you choose to send me through the contact form, and I only use it to reply to you.

What I collect

When you use the contact form, I collect the name, email address, and message you type in. That's the full extent of what's collected on this site.

How the contact form works

The form is handled by FormSubmit (formsubmit.co), a third-party service that takes what you submit and emails it straight to my inbox. FormSubmit processes that data on my behalf so the message reaches me. Their own privacy policy covers how they handle it in transit.

Why I collect it

Only to reply to your enquiry. There's no other purpose.

Lawful basis

Under UK GDPR, I rely on legitimate interest to respond to messages sent to me, and on the fact that submitting the form is you consenting to me using those details to get back to you.

What I don't do

  • I don't sell or share your data with anyone

  • I don't add you to a marketing list or send you promotional emails

  • I don't create an account or a profile for you

Third parties

A few services help run this site, and each processes a small amount of data as part of that:

  • FormSubmit (formsubmit.co) delivers contact form submissions to my inbox

  • Framer (framer.com) builds and hosts this site and, as the platform provider, sets a small number of essential cookies and may collect basic aggregate analytics to keep the site running

  • GitHub Pages hosts some of the live product demos embedded on this site

Cookies

I don't run my own tracking or advertising cookies. Framer, as the platform this site is built and hosted on, may set essential cookies needed for the site to function. There's nothing here for you to opt in or out of beyond what your browser already controls.

How long I keep data

I keep contact form messages only for as long as it takes to reply to you, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case the conversation continues. I don't keep it longer than that.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask what data I hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. To do any of that, email yash@dropcap.design and I'll deal with it directly.

Changes to this policy

If anything here changes, I'll update this page and the date above.
