Digital Product

Hook
A self-initiated redesign of SHL’s ION design system, built out into a working candidate-assessment reporting product.
Summary
SHL’s ION design system audit turned up real gaps: no spacing scale, a dated font pairing, flat single-layer shadows, and zero motion. This project rebuilt it as ION 2.0, an OKLCH token system with a fairness-safe score palette, then used it to redesign TalentCentral+, SHL’s candidate-assessment reporting product. The rebuild spans eight product screens (dashboard, candidate summary, competency insights, interview prompts, distributions, proctoring, settings, and an auto-paginated report builder) across five assessment lenses: Job Focused Assessment, Verify Ability, Motivation Questionnaire, SVAR, and Smart Interview On Demand.
Highlights
ION 2.0 design system | 61 documented tokens, components, and pattern pages in OKLCH, with a fairness rule baked into the tokens themselves: score and band colors can never draw from red or green. Full candidate reporting flow | dashboard, candidate summary, competency insights, interview prompts, and score distributions, each reading the same five-lens assessment data. Auto-paginated report builder | assembles a print-ready candidate report on the fly, splitting interview and development pages into balanced chunks so no page overflows or reads sparse.
Facts
8 product screens | 61 design system pages | 5 assessment lenses (JFA, Verify Ability, MQ, SVAR, SIOD) | 27-page sample report for the lead candidate with every lens, interview prompts, development advice, and proctoring included
Self-initiated concept redesign of SHL’s ION design system and TalentCentral reporting product. Not affiliated with or commissioned by SHL. All org, candidate, and score data (Northgate Talent Group) is fictional.
